Research Use Only (RUO)

JorClinic Research Blood Analysis

A specialised laboratory analysis in which selected genetic/mRNA-related, immunological and biological parameters in a blood sample are examined.

The analysis uses JorClinic's own analysis technology and is not based on PCR or NGS.

JorClinic's earlier research and development programme has been completed. The current analysis is available commercially as a Research Use Only (RUO) analysis only.

Research Use Only (RUO). This analysis is not intended for medical diagnosis, screening, treatment or monitoring of a medical condition. The results do not constitute a medical diagnosis or treatment advice.

Research Use Only (RUO)

This is what your report looks like

The data in this report are example data.

Please note: this is an example of the reporting of measured research values. The report does not constitute a medical diagnosis or treatment advice.

What is in the report?

The personal test report contains the results of the laboratory analysis performed.

You can see which parameters were analysed and which values were measured in your blood sample.

Where relevant, the report contains additional technical information about the analysis method and the reported units of measurement.

The report provides no medical diagnosis and contains no individual treatment advice.

Transparency matters to us. That is why you can see in advance what the personal test report of the JorClinic Research Blood Analysis looks like.

The report contains the results of the laboratory analysis performed and the accompanying technical information.

The data shown are example data.

The JorClinic Research Blood Analysis is offered exclusively as Research Use Only (RUO). The report contains no individual medical diagnosis, medical interpretation or treatment advice.

Research Use Only (RUO) — The sample report shows how measured research values are reported. The report contains no individual medical diagnosis or treatment advice.

Optioneel

Would you like to discuss your report technically?

After receiving your report you can, if you wish, book a separate technical follow-up conversation.

This conversation is not included in the Research Blood Analysis and can be booked at additional cost.

The conversation is intended solely for a technical explanation of the analysis, the measured parameters, the analysis method used and the structure of the report.

No medical diagnoses are made during this conversation and no individual medical treatment advice is given.

What we measure

What do we measure?

Within this analysis, both sense- and antisense-related signals of selected SARS-CoV-2 gene regions are examined.

Genetic / mRNA-related parameters

  • Nucleocapsid (N) — sense

  • Nucleocapsid (N) — antisense

  • Spike (S) — sense

  • Spike (S) — antisense

Immunological parameters

  • IgG Spike

Anti-Spike IgG is determined as a separate immunological measured value.

  • IgG Nucleocapsid

Anti-Nucleocapsid IgG is determined as a separate immunological measured value.

Other biological parameters

  • IL-6

IL-6 is determined as a separate biological measured value.

  • Kynurenine

Kynurenine is determined as a separate biological measured value.

  • IDO2

IDO2 is determined as a separate biological measured value.

The analysis uses JorClinic's own analysis technology.

Analysis technology

A different analysis technology

The JorClinic Research Blood Analysis uses its own analysis technology to examine the selected genetic/mRNA-related parameters. This analysis is not based on PCR and not based on Next Generation Sequencing (NGS).

The analysis uses a specific technology that distinguishes, within the JorClinic analysis process, between the examined sense- and antisense-related signals.

Why this analysis is different

The JorClinic Research Blood Analysis combines different types of biological measured values within a single analysis.

Genetic/mRNA-related parameters, immunological parameters and additional biological parameters are each determined separately.

For the genetic/mRNA-related analysis, JorClinic's own analysis technology is used, and not PCR or NGS.

Results are reported as separate measured values and are intended solely for research and informational purposes.

Scientific publication

From research to a commercial RUO analysis

The development of this analysis was preceded by a research and development programme.

This research project has since been completed.

The results of this earlier research are described in a publicly available preprint.

The current JorClinic Research Blood Analysis is not offered as part of this research, and ordering the analysis does not constitute participation in scientific research.

What did the earlier research examine?

The earlier research examined various molecular and immunological parameters in blood in individuals with and without symptoms that were classified within the study as suspected Long COVID.

Within the study, N- and S-related genetic/mRNA signals, immunoglobulins and biological parameters related to immune regulation were examined, among others.

The study included 72 participants, 31 of whom were classified within the study design as individuals with suspected Long COVID.

The researchers examined, among other things, whether combinations of different measured values could provide information about patterns observed within the study population.

According to the authors, the results underline the complexity of the biological patterns examined and the importance of combining multiple types of measurement data.

Important distinction

The research described above has been completed and describes JorClinic's earlier research and development programme.

The current commercial JorClinic Research Blood Analysis is a separate commercial RUO analysis.

The current analysis is not offered as a clinical study and is not intended to establish, confirm or exclude a medical diagnosis in individual persons.
