- What exactly does the gut microbiome test measure?
- The analysis maps which micro-organisms are present in your gut, in what proportions, and what functional capabilities the ecosystem appears to have. We look at the whole, not at isolated bacteria.
- Is this a medical diagnosis?
- No. A microbiome analysis is not a diagnostic test: it cannot prove or exclude a disease and does not replace assessment by your GP or medical specialist.
- How does sampling work?
- You receive a sampling kit at home. Collection takes a few minutes and happens at your own pace. You return the sample in the enclosed packaging to the laboratory.
- How long before I have results?
- You usually receive your report within three to four weeks of the laboratory receiving your sample. After that, we schedule the consultation in which the doctor explains your results.
- What does it cost?
- The one-off analysis, including an explanation of your results, costs €399. The Personal Programme — 1 year costs €999 per year: over the course of one year your gut microbiome is followed with repeated measurements, results are personally interpreted by a doctor, and adjustments can be made where needed. Intensive guidance is available on request.
- Will a doctor explain my results to me?
- Yes. The explanation is not a separate option but part of every offer. With the annual programme you speak to the same doctor throughout the year.
- Who is this research suitable for?
- For people who want preventive insight into their health, who want to tailor their lifestyle more personally, or who have longer-standing gut-related questions and want professional explanation.
- Who is it not suitable for?
- Acute or alarming complaints require medical assessment first. If your complaints point to that, we say so and refer you back to your own doctor — even before an analysis.
- Why a follow-up measurement?
- The gut microbiome changes slowly. One measurement shows where you stand; repeated measurements show whether changes actually have an effect.
- What happens to my data?
- Your sample and results are medical data. They are processed in accordance with applicable privacy legislation, stored in a secure file and never shared without your consent.
- Do you sell supplements?
- No. We have no commercial interest in specific products, so our advice remains independent of that.
- Can I first have a personal consultation?
- Yes. In an introductory consultation for €99, you discuss your situation with the doctor and together decide which programme fits. This amount is fully deducted when you purchase a JorClinic product. We are also honest when an analysis would add little value in your situation.
- Where do the appointments take place?
- All consultations take place online, via a secure video connection. There is no travel or waiting time, and you speak with the doctor from your own surroundings. Because we work entirely online, we can guide you wherever you live in Europe.
