JorClinic Microbiome Analysis

What exactly does the analysis measure?

More insight than just bacterial composition.

The JorClinic Microbiome Analysis examines several aspects of the gut microbiome. You gain insight into, among other things, the composition and relative proportions of bacterial groups, microbial activity, diversity, colonisation resistance, enterotype, dysbiosis and various biological parameters and functions of the gut.

Not just

"Which bacteria are in my gut?"

But also

"How is my gut microbiome composed, what microbial activity is shown and what do the biological parameters and functions of the gut reveal?"

The analysis does not provide a diagnosis. It maps, examines and gives insight — the results are personally interpreted by a doctor.

What is examined?

Not just bacteria

The report presents the composition of the gut microbiome and discusses various bacterial groups individually. For each group, both the counts and the microbial activity are shown.

Composition of the gut microbiome

  • Bacteroides
  • Clostridium
  • Faecalibacterium prausnitzii
  • Ruminococcus
  • Gammaproteobacteria
  • Prevotella
  • Bifidobacterium
  • Akkermansia muciniphila
  • Lactobacillus
  • Fusobacterium
  • Desulfovibrio
  • Fungi

Microbiome parameters

  • Microbial activity
  • Relative proportions
  • Diversity
  • Colonisation resistance
  • Enterotype
  • Dysbiosis

Biological parameters and functions

The biological functions of the gut are also included

In addition to the microbiome, the report examines biological parameters and functions that give insight into the gut wall, the gut barrier and gut immunity.

  • Zonulin
  • Alpha-1-antitrypsin
  • Calprotectin
  • sIgA
  • Butyrate production
  • LPS production
  • Sulphate reduction
  • Mucus function
  • Gut wall protection

The key added value

From composition to function

The gut microbiome does not consist solely of different bacteria. The relative proportions, microbial activity and biological functions also form important parts of the overall picture.

01

Composition

Which micro-organisms and bacterial groups are present?

The report presents different bacterial groups individually, from Bacteroides and Prevotella to Faecalibacterium prausnitzii, Akkermansia muciniphila and Bifidobacterium. Desulfovibrio and Fungi are also included.

02

Activity & balance

How do the different groups relate to one another, and what microbial activity is shown?

In addition to the counts, the relative proportions, diversity, colonisation resistance, enterotype, dysbiosis and microbial activity per group are shown.

03

Biological functions

What do the examined biological parameters and functions reveal about, among other things, the gut wall, gut barrier and immune function?

Zonulin, alpha-1-antitrypsin, calprotectin and sIgA, together with functions such as butyrate production, LPS production, sulphate reduction, mucus function, gut wall protection, permeability and inflammation of the gut wall, and probiotic function.

From data to human contact

Lots of data. One unique body.

The analysis maps a large number of parameters of the gut microbiome and the biological environment.

But your result is not an isolated figure. It concerns your body and your personal situation. Data is the starting point, not the endpoint: a doctor helps you understand the results in the context of your story.

Personal interpretation by a doctor

The analysis results are not simply displayed digitally. A doctor personally reviews the results and interprets the various findings in their overall context.

From individual values to a personal picture

An analysis result does not stand alone. The meaning of different parameters can be related to other findings. That is why the results are personally assessed by a doctor.
